Summit scores high marks
With state government budgets in the red, information technology leaders have found it increasingly difficult to be innovative.
But Jerry Mechling, a lecturer in public policy at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, said failing to change is a big mistake.
“IT-enabled innovation is a key leadership challenge, and the leadership to make this happen is an important element,” Mechling said. “Failing to change is the biggest risk.”



Security talk reigns supreme at NASCIO conference
A non-profit agency consisting of state government chief information officers is lobbying Congress for funds to help tighten security on state IT infrastructures.

Office online services again recognized as “Best in Kentucky”
The Office of the Secretary of State’s online services were once again recognized by the Government Technology and the Center for Digital Government’s “Best of Kentucky 2009 Technology Awards.”  The awards were given out at today’s Kentucky Digital Government Summit.  The Office was recognized with the “Best Online Services Award.”
