'Best of Kentucky' Technology Awards Open For Nominations

Awards Program to be held in conjunction with the 2006 Kentucky Digital Government Summit in April

The 2006 Kentucky Digital Government Summit will be held in Lexington, Kentucky on April 25, 2006.  This year marks the sixth year for this annual public sector IT conference sponsored by

If you are involved in IT in Kentucky, whether in the public or private sectors, you cannot afford to miss this event."

Government Technology magazine and the Commonwealth Office of Technology.  In conjunction with the Kentucky Digital Government Summit, a new awards program is planned this year to highlight information technology accomplishments in the public sector.

The 'Best of Kentucky' Technology Awards program was established to salute IT professionals in Kentucky state and local government organizations for their dedication, hard work and contributions.  All government organizations in Kentucky are invited to submit nominations.  An evaluation committee will review submissions and select recipients in each of two award categories:  Leadership and Project Excellence.  

Leadership Awards will be given for:

  • Demonstrated Leadership in Management of Information Technology;
  • Demonstrated Excellence in Project Management; and
  • Visionary Award.

Development Awards will be given for:

  • Best Application Serving a Public Organization's Business Needs;
  • Best Application Serving the Public;
  • Best IT Collaboration Among Organizations; and
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology.

All projects nominated must be live, production systems.  The deadline for submissions is 6:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, March 21, 2006.
