Tasks performed online by KY businesses

Business use of Internet applications to improve efficiency and increase productivity is on the rise. More than one third (36%) of all Kentucky businesses had a Web site in 2004, up from 21% in 2002. Additionally, since 2002, a significantly greater share of Kentucky businesses are using the Internet for internal “operational” applications, such as tracking inventory, controlling a manufacturing process or conducting online meetings. The Internet is used most often by Kentucky businesses for general research, buying, selling, and providing the world with general information about the company.
