Governor’s Mansion Launches New Web Site
The Governor’s Mansion now has a new online presence located at http://governorsmansion.ky.gov.
"Thanks to today’s technology, Kentucky’s 90 year old Governor's Mansion can now be seen by Web visitors around the world" said Kenny Bishop, executive director of the mansion. "Our goal was to provide a resource for students to research this part of Kentucky's history, as well as to inform people everywhere of the great treasure we have in the Governor's Mansion."
The newly designed Web site offers users information about visiting the Governor’s Mansion. For those who may not be able to make a trip to Frankfort, the new site also offers a virtual tour. In addition, visitors to the site can learn about upcoming events, facts and history, view photos and obtain information about life in the mansion.
"Kentucky is on the leading edge with this Web site,” said Bishop. “Not only can visitors view the Governor’s residence virtually, but they can browse through the wealth of information, photographs and resources that they would not otherwise be able to see without actually visiting in person.”
The mansion’s new Web site was made possible through a partnership with Kentucky.gov and the Governor’s Mansion.
Kentucky.gov is the official Web site of the Commonwealth of Kentucky (http://kentucky.gov). It is a collaborative effort between the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Kentucky Interactive, Inc., a company that helps Kentucky government entities Web-enable their information services. Kentucky.gov was built and is marketed, operated and maintained by Kentucky Interactive, Inc., a Frankfort-based subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC.
