Broadband Horizons Joins Initiative to Support Broadband over Power Lines and Wireless Internet Access Technologies
Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the addition of a new ConnectKentucky Partner to support his Prescription for Innovation plan to provide broadband (high-speed Internet) access to all Kentuckians by 2007.
According to Governor Fletcher, “the addition of Broadband Horizons to the ConnectKentucky partnership will further my administration’s objective to deliver community-by-community broadband planning and deployment.”
As part of its partnership with ConnectKentucky, Broadband Horizons has agreed to provide engineering services, deliver broadband network design and implementation plans for a number of Kentucky communities. Additionally, the company plans to establish a Kentucky office in order to better support the initiative.
Broadband Horizons was the first company in Texas, and one of a handful in the nation, to successfully launch broadband service over power lines, a technology commonly referred to as BPL. Today, Broadband Horizons is a leading provider of BPL and other wireless services to small and medium-sized communities throughout Texas and the United States.
